The University of Scranton announces more than 1,600 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2017 fall semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence.

A total of 1,555 students have been named to the Dean's List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Fall 2017 semester of the 2017-2018 academic year, according to Joanne Bruno, J.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs. Students eligible for the Dean's List are those who have attained a 3.50 quality point average or better and are enrolled full-time. The letter grade "B" earns 3 quality points per credit, and the grade "A" earns 4 quality points per credit.

A total of 110 Lebanon Valley student-athletes have been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference's (MAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. The academic honor roll is comprised of student-athletes who compete in a varsity-level sport and registered a term/semester GPA of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher.

Lebanon Valley College wishes to congratulte nearly more than 700 students named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. Dean's list students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.4 out of 4.0.

The Cedar Crest College Investment Club manages a stock portfolio worth over $40,000 (originally worth $25,000) that was donated to Cedar Crest to give students an opportunity to learn how to analyze companies and make smart investment decisions through "hands-on" experiences. Since individuals have increasing responsibility for managing their own pensions, they need to understand the stock market and how to select stocks for investments. The MAC Commonwealth Conference announced its 2017 Field Hockey All-Conference Team this week and five Lebanon Valley players were among its ranks.

The Accounting Club provides networking opportunities for students, faculty and professionals in the field of accounting. The group informs members about different career opportunities in accounting and assists students in reaching their career goals by offering mentoring opportunities. More than 80 Lebanon Valley College students completed Brave Zone Network Training during the past academic year. The Brave Zone Network trains students, faculty, and staff with the goal of creating an on-campus network of allies and members of the LGBT+ community.

Students who achieved Dean's List have earned a GPA of 3.65 or higher in the academic semester.

The LVC Chamber Choir is one of four regional choral groups selected to perform at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conference at Susquehanna University on Nov. 11. They will be performing a program entitled "Mysteries, Miracles, and Mayhem."

Lebanon Valley College's Student Government is tasked with fostering understanding, communication, and cooperation among students, faculty, and administrators.

Lebanon Valley College welcomes 65 students who will participate in the Peer Mentor Program and guide new and transfer students through their first few months at The Valley. Peer mentors are responsible for assisting new students in succeeding personally, socially, and academically through connections to the College and their peers.

Lebanon Valley College's Pride of The Valley Marching Band will feature 135 students this year. The marching band performs at all home football games as well as appearances at various exhibitions throughout the fall semester.

The quiet and serene campus turned quickly to excitement during Move-in Day at Lebanon Valley College. Happy greetings among roommates and staff assisting new families blended with the sounds of coaching whistles on the fields and music rising from the Pride of The Valley Marching Band on the quad.

Resident Assistants (RA) and Resident Mentors (RM) are key members of the Residence Life staff. An RA oversees a floor or wing in a residence hall, serving as a resource for residential students and providing a residential environment conducive to the overall development of students. Both RA and RM roles encompass programming, administrative, and student development responsibilities.

Lebanon Valley College science students are spending part of their summer collaborating with faculty and fellow classmates for unique science summer research projects. Along with returning students, several incoming freshmen are participating through a program called Research First.
